The Influence of Authentic Leadership on Employee Engagement in Hospitals: A Systematic Literature Review

Authentic leadership is an increasingly relevant leadership approach in improving the quality of services and welfare of health workers in hospitals, especially in the post-pandemic context. This study aims to systematically examine the relationship between authentic leadership and employee engagement in hospitals through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach using the PRISMA method. The literature was collected from the Scopus database with a publication year range of 2019–2024, using the keywords "authentic leadership", "employee engagement", and "hospital". Of the 134 articles found, 20 met the inclusion criteria for analysis. The results show that authentic leadership contributes significantly to increasing employee engagement through five main themes: transparency, positive psychological capacity, support for well-being, utilization of job resources, and ethics-based leadership
